Treehouse Espresso Blend

Treehouse has been our core espresso blend at our flagship Brisbane coffee venue, One in a Million, for the past two years. Designed as the perfect middle ground between modern lighter roasts and more traditional darker roasts, Treehouse delivers a balance of approachability and depth. This medium roast coffee keeps bold, intense flavour notes with a rich body that produces a golden, velvety crema. When paired with milk, Treehouse transforms into something reminiscent of a decadent dessert—think caramel fudge and brownie—harking back to my time in Melbourne and the big, bold, crowd-pleasing blends served across the city’s best coffee roasteries.

Like many classic Melbourne-style blends, Treehouse features a Brazil/Colombia foundation, built here on a natural Brazil base. To keep the profile distinctive and seasonally fresh, we rotate in a diverse selection of washed coffees from Central America. This approach ensures two things: 1) year-round flavour consistency, and 2) a unique edge in the crowded house blend category. Previous seasonal inclusions have come from Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Mexico—regions celebrated for their mild, balanced profiles that complement the blend’s richness.

Treehouse is crafted to be easy to brew both professionally and at home. At our roastery, we regularly test it on a Breville home espresso machine to ensure it performs beautifully for home coffee enthusiasts, delivering strong crema and smooth, even extractions even with built-in grinders. In the café, it’s so consistent and forgiving that we sometimes go weeks without changing the recipe—it just works.
