Discover two expressive single-origin Brazils from third-generation grower Jean Vilhean Faleiros, produced on his family’s Santa Monica farm in the Alta Mogiana region. This area is known for its high altitudes, cooler climate and pockets of volcanic soil, all of which contribute to coffees with depth, sweetness and a gentle acidity. Jean builds on these natural advantages with careful processing and a long family history of working the land.

This box set brings together two small-lot naturals, Acaia and Catucai. Both undergo a 60-hour anaerobic fermentation and are inoculated with different yeast strains (Briosa and EC1118). Most coffee fermentations are spontaneous, with a mix of different microbacteria shaping the flavour. Here, the use of specific yeasts gives Jean the ability to guide the profile more deliberately.

The result is two decadent, dessert-like Brazils with a different tonality to the vibrant, fruit-forward coffees we tend to release. Expect milk chocolate, rum and raisin, stewed fruits and nougat. They are sweet, easy-drinking and versatile, tasting great both black and with milk. We especially love them as a straight espresso, which comes through thick, comforting and indulgent.

Together, these coffees highlight the character of Alta Mogiana and the potential of controlled yeast fermentation, offering a amplified take on Brazil’s signature profile.
