This Carbonic Maceration washed lot comes from Masina washing station in Guji, Ethiopia. Built in 2017 through a partnership between Project Origin and Primrose, Masina was the site of Project Origin’s first Ethiopian CM coffees and later produced the Diamond Washed lot used to win the 2018 World Barista Championship.
This year’s lot follows that same classic CM Washed style. Rather than pushing into heavy fermentation or overripe fruit, the process adds structure, sweetness and aromatic lift while keeping the coffee clean and composed.
In the cup, it is floral, sparkling and elegant, with tropical fruit, mandarin and apricot. A bright citrus acidity keeps everything lively.
